Hey there!

I'm Joe Mruk - a freelance illustrator, designer, and educator living in the East End of Pittsburgh. I received my BFA at California University of Pennsylvania in 2010.

Since graduating, I've become involved with the incredible community in Pittsburgh, working on designs and illustrations for bands both local and national. I've worked on posters, identity packages and media kits for many large-scale events and music festivals. My editorial experience includes collaborations with CraftPittsburgh Magazine, the Pittsburgh Current, the City Paper, and Pittsburgh Quarterly. I have also collaborated with companies such as Tröegs and Troika.

I can be contacted to assist your band, your brand or your event in any visual aspect, such as posters, album art and package design, as well as designs for shirts, beer labels, and stickers.

I have conducted classes for drawing and illustration for 9-12 year olds as well as adults at Wash Arts in Washington, PA. For three years, I coordinated and served as an instructor at a summer art camp for Lakota youth, as a function of the Warriors of the Lakota Charitable Foundation, on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, South Dakota.

Check out my résumé here and my list of exhibitions here.

You can buy the original drawings from my poster work here!

In my spare time, I record dreamy folk music as Saint Deadmule.
